Film Training Manitoba’s goal is to develop a highly skilled and adaptable workforce to support the activities of Manitoba production companies.

FTM collaborates with members of the film and television industry to identify the training needs within the community. With this information we can offer practical, skill-based training that is targeted where labour gaps occur.

Community Futures Westman is a community-based, volunteer-driven organization that strengthens the economy of southwestern Manitoba by operating a Business Development Centre, and by cooperating with individuals, communities, and other agencies to encourage community economic development.

Recognizing the value of communities and their potential, CF Westman will promote and assist in any potential strategic economic, environmental, and social development opportunities. CF Westman will continue to promote the high quality of life in our rural communities within our region and will market this concept to potential residential or business inhabitants.

The goal of Community Futures Westman is to identify, develop and support long-term job creation and economic development in the region. This is achieved through various Community Economic Development activities (such as seminars and workshops) and is supported by our Business Development Centre.

Brandon / Westman area.

Employment Barriers

Youth who experience employment barriers include, but are not limited to, those who
self-identify as:

  • Living with a disability (self-declared)
  • Indigenous Youth
  • In or aging out of care (CFS)
  • Living in a low-income household (E & IA or self-declared)
  • Living with family care responsibilities (+ single parent)
  • Early leavers from high school
  • Affected by substance use
  • Currently in, coming out of, or who have had involvement in the justice system
  • Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
  • Involuntarily not in Education, Employment, Training for at least 6 months
  • LGBTQ2+
  • Living with low levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Recent immigrant (5 years) and/or refugee
  • Youth who belong to a visible minority group

Eligible Participants

  • Between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of intake/selection
  • in need of assistance to overcome employment barriers – training is required for the position which they were hired (must not have experience in this field)
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons who have been granted refugee
  • status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

Engineering Access Program (ENGAP) provides an opportunity for students of Indigenous ancestry, who may not have had access to the necessary resources, to obtain the prerequisites required to get into, prepare for, and succeed in the Price Faculty of Engineering.

Through its warm and supportive community and staff, ENGAP offers its students a home away from home. Supports ENGAP offers are academic upgrading in Pre-Calculus, Physics 1&2, Chemistry and Computer Programming; Academic advising; Personal counselling, help with resume, interview skills, help with scholarship and bursary applications; Financial support through ENGAP scholarships and bursaries for students in their second year in ENGAP, corporate donors that hire our students for summer opportunities and positions after graduation.

UR Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing

University of Regina & Saskatchewan Polythechnic

Welcome to the Saskatchewan Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program!

Our program is offered jointly by the University of Regina and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

We are a direct entry program with locations in Regina, Saskatoon, and North Battleford. Students can enter our program right after high school, without needing to complete a pre-professional year. This allows our students to experience clinical experience and hands-on patient care in their very first year! This is a fantastic way to get a feel for the nursing profession.

You will study across the fields of biology, Indigenous health, family health, healthy growth and development, nursing research, physical assessments, pharmacology, nursing leadership, nursing foundational skills, community health, medical/surgical nursing, and mental health.

You will have access to innovative learning modalities, including face-to-face, blended learning, remote learning, small group/lab learning, and learning in the practice education settings.
