28th AnnualBrandon Career Symposium
March 4-6, 2013
The Brandon Career Symposium is designed to be an opportunity for students and adults to hear from and talk with exhibitors about all the challenges and opportunities in making career choices. During this three day event, you can share your professional experiences of sustaining a career in your displayed profession.
Our objective is to create an environment where youth and adults can visit informative and interactive displays, attend speaker sessions and meet with leading representatives in business and education to discover career and educational paths for ongoing personal growth and development.
More so, the Symposium is intended to make youth and adults aware of the educational and technical skills they would require for future employment. As well, and if at all possible, they are encouraged to pursue their education and enroll in relevant fields. Participants need information about job opportunities and the types of education, skills and experience they require to be competitive in the job market and by representing your organization/business at the Brandon Career Symposium you will provide them with another tool in being successful.
In the past, the Symposium has served to increase awareness among both employers and students. The high level of participation by employers and students suggests a growing interest in issues related to youth and employment.
Taking an active role in the Brandon Career Symposium will benefit both participants and your organization in meeting employment-related needs. The Career Symposium is the perfect opportunity to establish recognition and credibility within this growing market and ensure that you can meet your long-term human resources needs.
The Symposium targets students in Western Manitoba; however, all high schools within Manitoba, Eastern Saskatchewan, and the Northern United States are encouraged to attend. Senior 1 through to Senior 4 students attend the Symposium to explore the endless possibilities for their future in a self-motivated and interactive
setting.
Parents are encouraged to attend with their child to participate in their career paths. An open house will be made available to the general public in the evening to explore the diversities of careers.
University and college students, parents entering the work-force, and unemployed individuals are encouraged to partake in the Symposium to explore the vast possibilities of career choices all in one great place.
